Can R Street become downtown Sacramento's first true art and culture corridor? This may be the question of many, but I ask you to remember back to recent history before the 14th and R Street live work project was completed by D&S Development. No one would go to that part of town at night, and it was considered an area "off the beaten path" that did not feel safe and had very little potential for growth and stability for business. Now look at R Street. It is one of the most visited streets in Sacramento for food, drinks, entertainment and much more. Bay Miry and D&S Development I feel have been a catalyst to R Street bringing fresh ideas and businesses that enable others to continue that growth with confidence. CADA has just completed a large project on R Street, repaving the roads and incorporating artistic pieces that span several city blocks. Sacramento has a rich art community and really should have a dedicated space to display our local talent and share the culture we have with all that live here and come to visit Sacramento. Ali Youssefi and CFY Development have what it takes to bring an amazing artist live work project to R Street that will continue the amazing growth we all love to see in our downtown. Born and raised in Sacramento, I know Ali has a passion for seeing our city become one that people really want to come visit and one that we can be proud of. We are not a cow town and certainly have the ability to be a major destination city if things are done right. Development fuels our economy and keeps the city alive.
